Role and Permission
Users role and permissions play a vital role in managing access and controlling actions within a system or application. Users are individuals who possess credentials to access the system, while roles consist of predefined sets of permissions assigned to users.
Users Permission
To access the Users & Permissions page, follow these steps:
- Open the left-hand navigation panel and click on Setting.
- Choose the Users permission tab
- Select Your Organization
- To assign a role to a user in Vistar, you need to have administrative permissions. Once you have the necessary permissions, locate and click on the Add User button.
- Assign role to a team memeber in Vistar . To assign role you have two options
- Choose from user profiles created by the connected identity provider: If you have connected an identity provider (such as Google Workspace or Okta) to Vistar, you can select the team member from the existing user profiles.
- Manually invite them using a company email address: If the team member does not have an existing user profile in the connected identity provider, you can manually invite them.
Roles
Roles are predefined sets of permissions that determine what actions and operations users can perform within a Vistar platform. By assigning roles to users, administrators can efficiently manage and control access privileges. This approach simplifies the process of granting or revoking permissions, as changes can be made at the role level rather than on an individual user basis.
User Roles | Permission level |
---|---|
Admin | Grant the user unrestricted access to all Vistar features, functionalities, and resources. |
Team Leader | Manage users within a particular role |
Auditor | Full read access to the entire organization |
